3AM Nightmare!!

Alright, now most of you know that I have 3 beautiful children that God has graciously given me to watch over. Recently, my 3-year-old daughter, Lindsey Grace, decided she was going to scare me half to death in the middle of the night! I had had a restless night and finally fell asleep around 2 AM and then I woke to her in my bed around 3 AM. In the dark, the shadows on her face were dark and appeared as though they were blood. Well my blood ran cold and I reached over to turn on the touch lamp. Imagine my horror when I see her covered in red from head-to-toe! I quickly realized it was TOO red to actually be blood and she seemed fine and unharmed. So after touching it, I realized it was oil paints! Oh my goodness-she was pink for days!! I took her into the bathroom and cleaned her up as best as I could with baby oil because I did not dare use mineral spirits on her sensitive skin. I thought I would share some pictures of her adventure and must say that for now, I have gotten rid of my oil paints and will stick to watercolors & acrylics until she is older! At the bottom, is my latest oil painting "Scarlet Stirring" 12 x 16 framed canvas panel.
